Engagement Photoshoot PROPS! Balloons!!!
Where can I find round balloons like this in the Portland Area????
(Photography: Caroline Tran)
It’s true…Jonnathan and I have been engaged since the end of July and still haven’t done our engagement photos… We’re both stubbornly determined not to get them done until we are both happier with our weight. I know, sounds ridiculous, but we really want to feel our best! Plus, we’re waiting for the trees to blossom and things to warm up a bit more. Ryan and Joelle, our photographers from FS Photography have some awesome ideas (I promise I’ll let you in on the details!) Anyway…I have fallen in love with engagement photos that feature props, in particular BALLOONS! It’s perfect for Jonnathan and I! We can feature our romantic side AND our playfulness!!! How gorgeous are these images from two of my favorite photographers: Caroline Tran based out of CA and Joey Nicole a local photographer based out of Seattle!

Jackie and Zach you two are just adorable!!!!

A BIG THANK YOU TO CAROLINE TRAN AND JOEY NICOLE FOR SHARING THESE GORGEOUS IMAGES!!! I’m Inspired!!!
And well…since I mentioned it. I hate to call it a diet…cause it really isn’t dieting, but rather EATING HEALTHY – Joey Nicole and her sister have a blog that has been IMMENSELY HELPFUL for Jonnathan and I to get fit and healthy! It’s called Paleo Girls! Basically, it’s taking all the nasty processed foods out and focusing on eating what our bodies were designed to have. Check it out! I KID YOU NOT I’VE LOST 5.4LBS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY AND JONNATHAN HAS LOST 10 LBS!!!!! Regardless of weight loss, we feel incredible! I’m never going back to the way we used to eat!!!! Thanks Joey Nicole!!!!
Prepare Yourself!!! ‘Cause this gets reeeeaaallly good!
So I have been slowly collecting “vintage” goodies over the past few month, keeping an eye out for budget-friendly decorations that ideally work for both our wedding AND our home. I would hate to spend a gob of cash on items that couldn’t be used again…talk about sadness and what could lead to day-after-wedding regret! This has led to some serious treasure hunting at The Good Will and Value Village, perusing garage sales, craigslist ads, scouting out relatives’ hidden treasures in dirty garage corners or tucked away in dusty attics and let me tell you I’ve found some delightful items!!! Okay, I’ll admit Ross and TJ Max have been good to me as well! So what have I found you ask?
Our first find was from a really kind family who had been remodeling their home, which was their grandmother’s, and had old barn/home windows (we’re talking reeeaaalllyyy old windows) who sold us a bunch of them for $5 and $10 a piece! Some of them are around the house as decor the rest are on our patio
Jonnathan was the one who first took me to thrift stores – Ummmm hello!!! Serious Jackpot baby! We found a bunch of milk glass goodies, which you’ll know from previous posts how much I love milk glass. Then we landed on silver candlesticks and sterling silver platters – I’m really quite thankful people aren’t aware of what they are throwing into their “get rid of pile”. Then we found really vintage glass Coca-Cola bottles in Jonnathan’s Mom’s garage! Vintage Pepsi and Coca-Cola wood crates tucked away at my Great Aunts! Hand Crafted Platters and all our dessert/sugar apothecary jars, cake plates and Birdcage from Ross! TJ Max helped us with our large glass centerpiece vases and garden french style frames.
THEN… I’m going to add DIY touches! I’m almost finished with the moss mongrams (Pics and Instructions coming soon). One of my dear bridesmaids is making us a quilt!!!!! And she is going to help me with our burlap ring pillow. I have burlap ribbon for mason jars and other small details and we will purchase bulk burlap for the tables. Oh soooo fun!
Okay…. so all this talking. PICTURES PLEASE! Caroline Tran based out of L.A. is by far one of my FAV PHOTOGRAPHERS. She blows me away with her ability to tell a story with her images. I know you are going to love her too! Lacee and Jason’s Wedding is stunning and sooo perfectly represents much of the vision I have for our own wedding coming this summer. PREPARE YOURSELF! CAUSE THIS IS SOME SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!
I LOVE when photographers capture the simple beauty of the surrounding natural elements!

Burlap, Ribbon, Mason Jars, Silver Candle Holder, Pillar Candles, Pink, Peach and Ivory Roses ahhhhhh yes yes yes!
I’ve got to find me some of these dangling crystals to add into the mix! Michaels Craft Store?

Sweets really call for chilled milk!
Do you see what I see!? SIMILAR Coca Cola Crate?!

LOVE THE ROMANCE!!!!
